We’ve all played (and got too addicted to) Simpson’s Tapped Out or Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff.
The basic premise is to rebuild a town, unlocking characters and items as you go as you rebuild houses, shops and other locations, some of which take real hours or even days to complete. I recall one item on Tapped Out taking 90 days to complete, which is just crazy.
Well, Disney has been pretty quiet on the mobile app front.
We’ve recently been introduced to Disney Life, a mobile app that allows you to watch any Disney movie or TV programme from your phone or tablet for a monthly fee, and they have released one or two games in the past but nothing that really competes with any of the big companies in the mobile app business.
Disney’s new app ‘Magic Kingdoms’ puts you right in the drivers seat of your very own Disney park.
When you first open the app, after the long download (don’t worry it took no longer than 10 minutes), you’re greeted with ‘When you wish upon a star’, the song used in the advertisements for Disneyland!
The park has been overtaken by Disney villains, the main one being the evil Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, and a curse has been spread throughout the park, creating darkness and evil, closing off big parts of the park.
Your job is to rid the park of the curse, bring back the big attractions that we all know and love and bring Disneyland back to it’s former glory.
The first attraction that you bring back to life is the famous ferris wheel from the California park.
The first character back is Mickey Mouse who guides you through the basics of the game, with help from Merlin from The Sword in the Stone.
There are so many famous attractions to be unlocked like Space Mountain, It’s a Small World and even parades!
You get to pick where the attractions are placed, grant the wishes of visitors like meeting their favourite characters or getting on their favourite attractions.
The cutest part is when a task is completed, you high five the characters by tapping their hand with your finger! I die of cuteness every time.
It’s such an exciting game and it’s certainly filled the gap that we’ve all been waiting for in terms of mobile games from Disney.
The game is free to download, but there are in-app purchases if you so wish to progress quicker in the game!
It’s available on iOS and windows now so get downloading and build your dream Disneyland!
