We all know Disney is in the middle of making some re-makes.
Whether you’re excited about it or whether you’re wishing they’d leave the classics alone, these movies definitely on the horizon and they’ve got us all intrigued.
Yesterday, a trailer was released for the remake of The Jungle Book, which will be premiered next spring as the video states.
We hear the familiar voice of Scarlett Johansson talking to who we realise pretty quickly is Mowgli. We then learn she is playing the snake Kaa, who appears to be quite massive. She hisses the famous line ‘trust in me’ then we’re thrown in to the ever so familiar action montage.
You can already tell this version is going to be a lot darker than the goofy, funny version we’re used to. It has more of a ‘boy gets abandoned in the jungle and has to keep himself alive because of all the big scary animals’ rather than ‘boy gets adopted by fat bear and goody two shoes panther and sings about eating fruit.’
We also see shots of Mowgli as he grows up as well as other characters like King Loui, Bagheera and Shere Khan. Who all look absolutely terrifying as animated realistic versions of the animals.
The film has a strong cast list behind it too, including the already mentioned Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba and Lupita Nyong’o.
See for yourself and let me know what you think!
